VEGAS, BABY

February 14, 2011 -- Melissa is back home in Florida after flying back to the Sunshine State yesterday from her Las Vegas debut, but there’s not much time to rest with two more shows this week.

But before looking ahead to the pair of live performances set for just a couple days from now, the trip out west certainly merits looking back on as, still just 21 years old, Melissa has now played in two major cities known for entertainment, not to mention within just a few weeks of each other.

First it was (four shows in five nights in) Nashville, just four weeks ago.  Then last Thursday night (February 10) she performed on ‘The Strip’ at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay.  The show was called “Acoustic Strip” and saw Melissa perform a mix of both cover songs and originals at the fabled venue.

This now brings to four the number of states Melissa has done live shows in since the release of her CD, “Waiting,” including (in this order) Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, and Nevada.

“It has by all means been very exciting,” Melissa said.  “I’ve been blessed to get such tremendous opportunities.  Performing in Nashville and Las Vegas in particular is certainly a huge honor and I’m very fortunate to be playing on these stages.

“It makes it that much more exciting to see what lies ahead,” she concluded.

In the immediate term, what lies ahead, as an already busy 2011 rolls on, are shows this week near Tampa (in Ruskin) on the 16th and in St. Petersburg the next night.  Next week (Feb. 25) will see a live show in Orlando.

Keep up with all of the details on Melissa’s performances, past and present, in the LIVE SHOWS portion of the website and find one (or more) to come out to with your family or friends.
